Mop Cap is a documentary film about one woman’s experience with the autoimmune condition alopecia, which causes patchy hair loss and baldness. Director Nicolle Littrell tells Ann Hedly’s lifelong story of how this condition has created conflict and creativity in her life and how self-love is the key to lasting acceptance. The film explores universal themes of femininity, beauty, personal loss and transformation.
Nicolle Littrell is a filmmaker based in Belfast, Maine. She is also faculty in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality program at the University of Maine.
